Mark 1:7

Mark 1:7 - John the Baptist recognized his place in relation to the Messiah.

Mark 1:7 (KJV) And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

#1: Christ is mightier than us all.
#2: The key is recognition.
#3: We only understand humility when we understand the majesty of the Messiah.
#4: We are not worthy to serve the one whose service we have enlisted in.
#5: We stand tallest when we bend to God's will.

John 1:19-36 - We have the testimony of John the Baptist as to who Jesus is and his relationship to the Lord.

John 3:22-36 - The early ministry of Jesus and the later ministry  of John ran concurrently, which caused some questions on the part of John the Baptist's disciples.
